We are thrilled to introduce you to, "I Am Hartford: A Celebration of Diversity," a transformative initiative by the Theatre Division at the Hartt School, University of Hartford. This project, generously supported by the Edward C. and Ann T. Roberts Foundation, aims to capture and celebrate the vibrant cultural diversity of Hartford and its neighboring communities.
MISSION:
"I Am Hartford" is a multi-faceted endeavor encompassing student-led interviews, multimedia storytelling, and community outreach. Our mission is to foster inclusivity, empower students, and amplify the transformative power of the arts by connecting with underserved communities.
Key Components:
- Student Documentarian Teams: Engaging 10-20 documentarians from the Theatre Division, and from across the University of Hartford to capture diverse stories.
- Community Outreach: Conducting interviews on campus and throughout Hartford, involving residents, local businesses, and community leaders.
- Multimedia Theatrical Production: Collecting narratives in and around campus and the Greater Hartford community-at-large culminating into a multimedia experiences
- Educational Impact: Bridging the academic-real world gap, providing hands-on experience in multimedia storytelling.
How You Can Participate:
- Student Documentarians: If you're a student with a passion for storytelling, join us in capturing the essence of Hartford's diversity. An application is due by Jan. 31, 2024.
- Faculty: Faculty, researchers, and experts from various fields are invited to contribute insights during project workshops. Express your interest by Jan. 22, 2024. A discussion and briefing to be conducted Feb. 2, 2024, via Zoom (Time TBD).
- External Editor: We are seeking an external editor to guide students in crafting compelling narratives.
